🏔️ Chapter 1: Divine Blessings and the Journey to Base Camp.
Before leaving Joshimath, we visited the sacred temple where Lord Badrinath is brought and worshipped during the winter season. Seeking his divine blessings gave us an incredible sense of peace and strength. With a pure heart and high energy, our official trek journey finally began. Driving through the winding mountain roads with the chilling winter breeze hitting our faces, we knew this wasn’t going to be an easy ride. By the time we reached the base camp, the sun had turned golden, and the massive Himalayan peaks welcomed us. Our backpacks were heavy, but our spirits were even higher.
As we moved further along the trail toward the base camp, the temperature dropped drastically and the freezing cold really started hitting us. Honestly, on winter treks like this, if you don’t layer up properly, you’re going to have a really tough time. To keep myself warm, I relied on this Body Warmer Thermal I got from Amazon, and it seriously did a fantastic job. It’s an absolute must-have if you’re planning any winter trekking

❄️ Chapter 2: First Steps on Snow (The Forest Trail)
As we hiked through the dense forests of Oak and Rhododendron, the sunlight faded, and the temperature dropped drastically. And then came the moment we were all waiting for—our very first step on fresh, white snow! The ‘crunching’ sound under our boots felt like music. Walking on frozen trails with microspikes on our shoes was a thrilling new experience.
Pro-Tip: For walking on January snow, a good pair of waterproof shoes is mandatory. You can check the Best Winter Trekking Shoes on Amazon here.

💎 Chapter 3: The Magic of Tali Lake (The Frozen Mirror)
When we reached Tali Lake, we didn’t find water; instead, it was a magnificent mirror of solid ice. The entire lake was completely frozen due to the extreme January cold. As the soft winter sun hit the frozen surface, the view was breathtaking. Standing there, it felt as if time had stopped. Mount Nanda Devi stood tall in the background, keeping a watch over us. The silence here brought absolute peace.

👑 Chapter 4: The Final Push (Summit Day to Kuari Pass – 12,500 Feet)
At exactly 5:00 AM, with the temperature dropping below minus 8 degrees, we started our final summit push. The freezing winds were biting our faces, and every breath turned into mist. Despite heavy layers and hand warmers, our hands and feet were getting numb. But we kept moving because the summit ridge was calling us. Reaching the top of Kuari Pass, all our exhaustion vanished in a second. Majestic peaks like Hathi Parvat, Dronagiri, and Kamet were standing crystal clear right in front of us. Standing at 12,500 feet, waving the flag was the proudest moment of my life. We made it!

🌄 Closing Note:
Coming back home, the snow was left behind, but the silence of those mountains stayed within me forever. Kuari Pass was not just a trek; it was a journey to rediscover myself. The exploration continues!
